Annual Convention

 

The Lancashire and North West Beekeepers Association Annual Convention was held on Saturday 1st March 2008 at :-

Speakers

This years guest speakers will be Dr Ivor Davis the former BBKA President and Celia Davis NDB

Celia Davis NDB will also be giving two talks entitled 'Nuc It!' in the morning and 'Bee Bistro!' in the afternoon.


Dr Ivor Davis

Dr Ivor Davis recently retired as the BBKA President. He is a Wax Chandler prize winner and a speaker of considerable note. He is an advocate of responsible beekeeping and his contributions are of tremendous value to all beekeepers.


Celia Davis NDB

Celia Davis NDB has been a beekeeper for 26 years. During this time she spent 11 years as Secretary of Warwickshire Beekeepers Association and 6 years on the BBKA Examinations Board. She is now President of Warwickshire Beekeepers Association and has written for BeeCraft for 10 years. Celia has also written two books entitled 'The Honey Bee Inside Out' (2004) and 'The Honey Bee Around and About' (2007).


Exchange and mart

There will be a selection of second-hand equipment, books and magazines available to purchase. Please feel free to bring along any spare equipment you would like to sell. During the lunch break there will be stalls in the entrance selling home-made jams, pickles, hand-made soaps and lotions and a selection of plants.

Lunch will be available for £4.00 consisting of a Ploughman's, and home made jam. Tea, coffee and home made cakes will be available in the morning and afternoon breaks at a small charge.
